Al-ʿĀdiyāt · The Chargers
سُورَةُ العاديات
About this chapter
Sūrat al-ʿĀdiyāt is chapter 100 of the Quran. It is unclear whether it was revealed in Mecca or Medina, however, the stronger evidence favours the latter, a view held by authorities such as al-Ḍaḥḥāk, Anas ibn Mālik, and Qatādah.
The introduction sets out when the chapter came and what it addresses; the merits gather what the narrations say of reading it. Both are written as units of the tafsir, with their own footnotes.

- 7 And indeed he is [himself] witness to that!
- 8 He is indeed avid in the love of wealth.
- 9 Does he not know, when what is [buried] in the graves is turned over.
- 10 And what is [concealed] in the breasts is divulged.
- 11 On that day their Lord will be well informed about them [and their deeds]?
