About

The Ocean of the Quran is an original commentary in English, not a translation of an older one. A team of researchers writes it verse by verse under the supervision of Shaykh Mohammad Saeed Bahmanpour, drawing on the classical commentaries, the narrations of the Prophet and the Imams, and the scriptures of other traditions, and citing every source.

Each verse is explained in up to six sections, from the meaning of its words to its place in the wider tradition.

It is published chapter by chapter as the work is completed, and it is free to read, to cite and to build on.
