- From Imam al-Ṣādiq (a): ‘He who recites this surah in any of his obligatory prayers, poverty will stay away from him, sustenance will approach him, and hideous death will be repelled from him.’
It must be noted that such benefits will only reach a person who recites the surah with reflection and contemplation, who realises the severe consequences of scandal-mongering, slandering, and infatuation with wealth. Such a person would seek permissible means to earn and spend his wealth; in return, God will bless him and his wealth, keep poverty away from him, and increase his sustenance. It has been narrated in many narrations that God blesses the livelihood of those who seek lawful means for it, who care about others, who frequently repent, and who seek forgiveness from Him. Reciting this surah repeatedly can be a reminder for a person to abstain from slandering and backbiting, and to seek the causes of blessings in their livelihood. Furthermore, the reward and blessings such a person would earn from God by caring for others would be a cause for him to have a peaceful and respectful death with the care, mercy, and compassion of God.
