Quraysh
سُورَةُ قريش
About this chapter
Sūrat al-Quraysh is surah number 106 in the existing order of the Quran. It was revealed in Mecca in the second year after the declaration of the Prophet’s call. It comprises four verses and is said to be the twenty-ninth chapter to have been revealed, after Sūrat al-Tīn (95) and before Sūrat al-Qāriʿah (101).
The introduction sets out when the chapter came and what it addresses; the merits gather what the narrations say of reading it. Both are written as units of the tafsir, with their own footnotes.
