وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِندَنا لَزُلفىٰ وَحُسنَ مَآبٍ
Indeed he has [a station of] nearness with Us and a good destination.
EXEGESIS
For zulfā (nearness) and maʾāb (good destination) see the commentary on verse 25.
EXPOSITION
Like the preceding statement regarding Prophet David (a), this verse is meant to deny all the vile claims made about Prophet Solomon (a); in this case that he abandoned his father’s religion and turned to polytheism because of his wives and built temples and idols for the false deities.
