أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِى تُورُونَ ﴿٧١﴾

Have you considered the fire that you kindle?

Exegesis

Tūrūna: kindle or make a fire. It is either from an independent Syriac root, or it is from the root w-r-ā, which involves an element of being hidden and concealed. It is used for making fire as the fire is hidden in the firestones or the woods that are used to start a fire.1
