سُورَةُ التحريم

About this chapter

Sūrat al-Taḥrīm consists of twelve relatively long verses. According to Ibn Abbas, al-Ḍaḥḥāk, and other early commentators, it is a Medinan surah, as the context of the verses seem to suggest. The broad and overarching theme of the surah is about family relations.

The introduction sets out when the chapter came and what it addresses; the merits gather what the narrations say of reading it. Both are written as units of the tafsir, with their own footnotes.
