Nūḥ · Noah
سُورَةُ نوح
About this chapter
Sūrah Nūḥ is the seventy-first chapter of the Quran, both in compilation sequence and order of revelation. It is a Meccan surah containing twenty-eight verses and was revealed close to the time of the Prophet’s migration to Medina. The surah encapsulates Prophet Noah’s (a) mission and his message to his people.
The introduction sets out when the chapter came and what it addresses; the merits gather what the narrations say of reading it. Both are written as units of the tafsir, with their own footnotes.

- 23 They say: “Do not abandon your gods. Do not abandon Wadd, nor Suwāʿ, nor Yaghūth, Yaʿūq, and Nasr.”
- 24 And already they have led many astray. Do not increase the wrongdoers in anything but error.’
- 25 They were drowned because of their iniquities, then made to enter a fire, and they did not find for themselves any helpers besides Allah.
- 26 And Noah said: ‘My Lord! Do not leave on the earth any inhabitant from among the faithless.
- 27 If You leave them, they will lead astray Your servants, and will beget none except vicious ingrates.
