Al-Insān – Verse 17

وَيُسقَونَ فيها كَأسًا كانَ مِزاجُها زَنجَبيلًا

They will be served therein with a cup of a drink seasoned with zanjabīl.

EXEGESIS

Zanjabīl is the Arabic term for the spice ginger. It is delicious, prevents certain ailments, and enhances flavour.[1] Arabs were reputed for loving the flavour of zanjabīl.[2] In fact, just as they would use kāfūr flavoured drinks to relax, they would use the zanjabīl flavoured drink to energise themselves.[3]
