إِنَّ في ذٰلِكَ لَعِبرَةً لِمَن يَخشىٰ
There is indeed a moral in that for someone who fears!
EXPOSITION
The moral of the story of Prophet Moses (a) is to be taken to heart by all who wish to avoid unnecessary hardship or torment. In other words, it is a moral that is highly relevant to all those who have fiṭrah (natural intuition). The human being’s fiṭrah leads to knowing and fearing God and thus someone who fears means those who fear God. However, keeping the expression open-ended broadens the relevance of this story to the widest applicable audience.
