إِنَّ الأَبرارَ لَفي نَعيمٍ
Indeed the pious shall be amid bliss.
EXEGESIS
Naʿīm means abundance of graces and bliss that is beyond description. The term is mentioned in an indefinite form to signify its unbounded greatness and vastness.
EXPOSITION
In many places in the Quran, the word naʿīm is attributed to paradise, such as in 5:65, 10:9, 22:56, and many others. However, in this verse, naʿīm is used without any attribution to indicate all general unbounded bliss, which is both physical and metaphysical.
