Al-Muṭaffifīn – Verse 30

وَإِذا مَرّوا بِهِم يَتَغامَزونَ

And when they passed them by they would wink at each other.

EXEGESIS

Yataghāmazūn is from the root word ghamaza, which means to wink as a sign to ridicule someone. In this context, the transgressors wink at each other when they see the believers to scorn and deride them.[1]
