Al-Burūj · The Houses
سُورَةُ البروج
About this chapter
This is a Meccan surah, said to have been revealed after Sūrat al-Shams and before Sūrat al-Tīn. As it is a Meccan surah, it was revealed at a time when the Muslims were under intense pressure and facing brutal persecution.
The introduction sets out when the chapter came and what it addresses; the merits gather what the narrations say of reading it. Both are written as units of the tafsir, with their own footnotes.
