- Imam al-Ṣādiq (a) is reported to have said: ‘The one who frequents in reciting Wa al-Shamsi Wa Ḍuḥāhā [Sūrat al-Shams], and Wa al-Layli Idhā Yaghshā [Sūrat al-Layl], and Wa al-Ḍuḥā [Sūrat al-Ḍuḥā], and Alam Nashraḥ Laka Ṣadrak [Sūrat al-Sharḥ], during the day or night, there would not remain anything in his presence except it would testify for him on the Day of Judgement, to the extent of even his hair, his skin, his flesh, his blood, his veins, his nerves, his bones, and all what the ground carried with him. And the Almighty Lord will say: “I accept your testimonies for My servant, and I reward him for it. Go with him to My gardens until he chooses from it what he loves, and I will give it to him without reproach, but as a mercy from Me and a grace upon him. And congratulations to My servant!”’[1]Thawab, p. 123.
- It has been reported from the Holy Prophet: ‘One who recites this chapter, Allah would give him [so much] that he would be pleased, and would remove difficulties from him, and comfort would easily come to him, and would make him self-sufficient due to His grace; and one who recites it fifteen times before he sleeps will not see in his dream except what he likes from the good, nor will he see anything evil in his dream. And whoever prays with it in his ʿishāʾ prayers, it is as if he has prayed with a quarter of the Quran and his prayer would be accepted.’[2]Burhan, 5/675. In a slightly different version of the same narration, the Prophet is attributed to have said: ‘One who constantly recites this chapter, Allah would give him what he desires until he is pleased, and would remove difficulties from him, and comfort would easily come to him, and would make him self-sufficient due to His grace; and one who recites it twenty times before he sleeps will not see in his dream except what he likes from the good, nor will he see anything evil in his dream. And whoever prays with it in his ʿishāʾ prayers, it is as if he has prayed with the whole of the Quran and his prayer would be accepted.’[3]Burhan, 5/675.
