Merits of Sūrat al-Naṣr

  1. Prophet Muhammad (s) is reported to have said: ‘Whoever recites it, it is as if they have witnessed the conquest of Mecca with the Messenger of God (s).’[1]
  2. ʿAbd-Allāh ibn Masʿūd narrated: ‘When this surah was revealed, Prophet Muhammad (s) would repeat this sentence frequently: “Exalted is You and I praise You. O Allah! Forgive me, for indeed You are the all-clement, the all-merciful.”’[2]
  3. The Prophet is reported to have said: ‘Whoever recites When Allah’s help comes with victory in their obligatory or supererogatory prayers, God will assist them against all of their enemies, and on the Day of Judgement they will be resurrected with a spoken book from their graves in which they are given protection from the bridge which passes over the hell and [from] the fire of hell and its crushing sound. And they do not pass by anything on that day except that they give them glad tidings and expectation of every good until they enter paradise. And in this world so many gates of goodness are opened for them such that they have never dreamt of it and never imagined it.’[3]
