يَومَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الإِنسانُ ما سَعىٰ
The day when man will remember his endeavours.
EXEGESIS
Saʿā comes from saʿī, which is what one works hard to acquire or accomplish, especially one’s most important endeavours.
EXPOSITION
The day when man will remember his endeavours infers that this awakening occurs after the human being had been heedless of his record of deeds and in forgetfulness about his purpose on earth (58:6).
