Merits of Sūrat al-Inshiqāq

  1. From Ubayy ibn Kaʿb, that the Prophet said: ‘Whoever recites Sūrat Inshaqqat, God will protect him from being given his book behind his back.’[1]
  2. From al-Husayn ibn Abī al-ʿAlāʾ, that Imam al-Ṣādiq (a) said: ‘Whoever recites these two surahs and makes them his focus in the obligatory prayer and the supererogatory prayer – When the sky is rent apart [Sūrat al-Infiṭār] and When the sky is split open [Sūrat al-Inshiqāq] – God will not withhold from him any request, nor will any barrier stand between him and God. He would not cease looking at God, nor would God cease looking upon him, all the way until God has completed the accounting of the people.’[2]

As always, such reward is for those who not only recite but truly understand and act on the message of the surah.
